Program, participants select, with the guidance of their Workskills
Coaches, one of two career paths: Office Support or Operations.
Office Support
Customer Service
- Typical job titles: Collections Representative, Customer Services
Representative, Help Desk
- Requires high levels of communications skills, computer skills,
ability to multi-task, ability to follow specific instructions
as provided, ability to make outgoing calls, sales abilities
Financial Services
- Typical job titles: Teller, Personal Banker, Financial Services
Associate, Client Services, Document Review Specialist
- Requires attention to detail, high levels of math, Excel and
Word computer skills, logical thinking & problem solving, customer
service, and up-selling or cross-selling
Call Center
- Typical job titles: Call Center Associate
- Requires willingness to spend entire work period at duty station
while using telephone and computer; also requires attention to
detail, keyboarding skills, basic computer knowledge, multitasking
ability, and possibly up-selling or cross-selling
Administrative Support
- Typical job titles: Office Services Specialist, Data Entry Clerk,
Receptionist, Switchboard Operator
- Requires strong skills in use of Microsoft Office computer applications
and scheduling software, excellent keyboarding skills, flexibility
in changing office environments, good judgment and discretion,
personal initiative, and time management skills
Clerical Support
- Typical job titles: File Clerk, Level 1 Accounting Clerk
- Requires excellent writing skills, experience in use of Microsoft
Office computer applications and scheduling software, excellent
keyboarding skills, flexibility in changing office environments,
good judgment and discretion, personal initiative, and time management
skills
Operations
Warehouse & Manufacturing
- Typical job titles: Warehouse Staff, Order Selector, Shipping/Receiving
Clerk, Manufacturing Technician, Assemblers
- Requires ability to read/write English, ability to work on a
team, ability to follow directions and established procedures
without deviation, basic computer knowledge, working with your
hands, ability to lift/carry heavy objects/containers, using hand
tools and small equipment, operating motorized equipment (such
as loaders and forklifts), substantial periods of physical activity,
and working in open environments
Equipment or Machine Operator
- Typical job titles: Machine Operator, Equipment Operator, Computer
Operator
- Requires excellent technical reading skills, basic to advanced
computer knowledge, able to follow directions and established
procedures without deviation, working with your hands, using hand
tools and small equipment, practical work experience or recent
technical training
Materials Handling
- Typical job titles: Machinist, Shipping and Receiving Technician,
Material Handler
- Requires coordination of timely and accurate shipping and receiving
of products and documentation and workers will use a wide variety
of power tools, jacks, forklifts, etc., or large automated machines
in addition to the above
