TCR! Volunteer Opportunities
Administrative Assistant
- Help TCR! staff with everyday needs so
the organization can focus on the needs of
the participants.
Duties: Help with paperwork, filing, folder making, and record information
in a computerized system.
Desired Qualifications: Ability to work independently, experience
in Microsoft Office Programs is a plus, detail oriented work style.
No previous experience necessary.
Envelope Stuffer
- Help TCR! staff with important fundraising and announcement mailings.
Duties: Assist with addressing and labeling
bulk mailings.
Desired Qualifications: No experience necessary.
Grant Researcher
- Help the Development Team research grant opportunities to increase
TCR!'s fundraising efforts.
Duties: Research grant and fundraising opportunities.
Desired Qualifications: Previous grant research experience
is preferred.
Instructor Assistant
- Help TCR! participants one-on-one with questions in
the classroom.
Duties: Assist TCR! instructors in providing one-on-one help for participants in the classrooms. Work
individually and in small focus groups in Writing, Computer Applications,
and Math classes. View descriptions
of TCR! courses.
Desired Qualifications: Strong communication skills, and
a basic understanding of particular course subject. No previous experience necessary.
Mock Interviewer
- Help TCR! participants learn how to prepare for and manage themselves during the
interview process.
Duties: Review resume and job description,
conduct practice interview, and complete feedback form for up to
4 TCR! participants. Provide constructive feedback to instructor
and participant (if comfortable).
Desired Qualifications: Experience with interviewing, supervising
or any employment related services.
Public Relations
- Help TCR! staff improve community awareness
of TCR!.
Duties: Find media and awareness opportunities that could showcase TCR! in the community.
Desired Qualifications: No experience necessary.
Special Event Planner
- Help TCR! staff and participants
before, during and after events.
Duties: Assist with at least one TCR! event during the year.
Desired Qualifications: No previous experience necessary.
Special Projects Volunteer
- Help TCR! staff update program materials used in marketing and recruiting efforts.
Duties: Review and update program material,
procedures, create flyers and assist with visual presentations.
Desired Qualifications: Creativity is a plus, and computer
skills are preferred. However, no experience necessary.
Tutor
- Help TCR! participants prepare for, understand and pass classes.
Duties: Assist participants (one-on-one
or with a small group) with understanding coursework and assignments. View descriptions
of TCR! courses.
Desired Qualifications: Background in English, Resume Writing,
Basic Computer Skills, Writing, or Math are preferred.
Speaker - As a Works
Skills Speaker, volunteers help TCR! participants gain insights
into real life experiences and motivate them to succeed.
Duties: Speak in front of a TCR! class
about personal business experiences, describing a day in the life
of a person working in an entry level position at your organization.
Share rewards of working at your organization, expectations and
behaviors on the job.
Desired Qualifications: Must have a business experience to
share. Public speaking skills are a plus.
