What We Do
Twin Cities RISE! (TCR!) is an innovative anti-poverty organization that offers a comprehensive work skills training program for low-income adults in the Twin Cities area. The combination of work skills classes, Personal Empowerment, one-on-one coaching, and internship opportunities result in placement in full time, living wage jobs.
MISSION
The mission of Twin Cities RISE! is to provide employers with skilled workers – primarily men from communities of color in the Twin Cities area – by training under- and unemployed adults for skilled jobs that pay a living wage of at least $20,000 annually.

HISTORY
Twin Cities RISE! was created in 1993 by Steve Rothschild, a former Executive Vice President at General Mills, who was motivated to find a solution to the poverty experienced by many people of color in the Twin Cities. He formed TCR! to both respond to the needs of the market and provide long-term training for low-income adults to get a living wage job. Learn more about his story at www.steverothschild.org.
