A note from new President and CEO Emma Corrie

Our reception on Tuesday April 19th at the American Swedish Institute was a truly inspiring gathering of friends, donors, community partners and employer partners!

First and foremost, we honored the incredible leadership of Tom Streitz. For 8 years, Tom has led TCR through many challenges. I am humbled by Tom’s commitment and passion to TCR’s mission and Participants and promise you that I will continue his dedication to serve those who face the most challenges to financial independence in our community.

As I enter into a leadership position at TCR, I am inspired by its legacy and am full of hope for its future. I feel truly fortunate knowing that TCR has a talented and dedicated Board of Directors and a staff that shows up every day with a deep commitment to the success of Participants and a core belief in their value and dignity.

I am profoundly grateful for the continued support of friends, donors, community partners and employer partners.  You have my commitment that we will continue to be good stewards of the resources you entrust to us. As I mentioned on Tuesday, for each dollar you invest with TCR, we return over $7 to taxpayers, participants, their families and our larger community. Look for quarterly updates from me detailing the impact of your investment in our work and I welcome the opportunity to hear your thoughts about our collective work.

Despite the immense challenges and loss the pandemic posed for all of us at TCR, we have not only survived but we have strengthened our services to Participants.  Due to the success of our Empowerment Campaign, we have invested in critical technology that allows us to train aspiring career seekers from their homes not only locally but, in the future regionally and throughout the State.  In short, with your help, we are stronger today than we were 2 years ago!

As we prepare to reopen our TCR building to the public on June 1, 2022, offering an improved hybrid training experience, I invite you to engage with and influence our work. Whether a gift of your Time, your Talent, or your Treasure, Twin Cities R!SE needs your continued support. To learn more about how you can make a difference, click here.

Finally, my door is always open to you. I welcome the opportunity to visit with you in person or by virtual call. My email is: [email protected] and my phone number is: 651-334-1277. Please feel free to reach out to me.

With your help, we continue to envision a community where all individuals, especially people of color, can attain financial independence through employment success.

Serving You,
Emma Corrie, she/her/hers
